CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – The Foundation of Appalachian Ohio and the Guernsey County Foundation announce the 2024 Myron Fishel Scholarship recipients.

Dr. Waite Phillip Fishel, a former chemistry professor at Vanderbilt University, created the Myron Fishel Scholarship Fund in 1974 to honor the memory of his only son, Myron, who was killed in action during World War II. The Myron Fishel Scholarship Fund, which joined the Guernsey County Foundation’s family of funds at FAO in late 2016, provides support to Guernsey County students attending or planning to attend an accredited postsecondary institution.

The 2024 recipients are:

  • Janson Alloway, a Buckeye Trail High School graduate
  • Addison Burris, a John Glenn High School graduate
  • Cameron Campbell, a Cambridge High School graduate
  • Taylor Forbes, a Meadowbrook High School graduate
  • Karly Launder, a Meadowbrook High School graduate
  • Madison May, a Meadowbrook High School graduate
  • Sara Mignano, a Meadowbrook High School graduate
  • Grace Shipe, a Buckeye Trail High School graduate
  • Porter Snider, a John Glenn High School graduate
  • Caleb Stanberry, a Cambridge High School graduate
  • Smith Sylvis, a Cambridge High School graduate
  • Kensley Taylor, a Cambridge High School graduate
  • Isaac Trujillo, a John Glenn High School graduate
  • Elizabeth Wycoff, a John Glenn High School graduate
  • Zayden Yeagle, a Meadowbrook High School graduate

Each year, FAO partners with donors, volunteers and affiliate foundations, including the Guernsey County Foundation, to award scholarships through a competitive application process to students across the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.
